Went to the Alabama Gold Camp Wednesday. Cold water felt good with the high 90 degree heat. Got a little gold and a few pickers.

My company was "Obamerized" this spring. We shut it down in May. Industrial construction is tough since the big plants are afraid to spend. I have been rebuilding a house for my daughter 6 1/2 days a week but the end is close!! I hope to do a lot more prospecting and hopefully find some new places. Any body looking for a partner in the West Alabama, east Ga area , I can go most any day!!

Hey Kiln...Nice finds there. We were planning about a five day trip starting tomorrow but are putting it off for a day or two to see what this weather is going to do. If you've got the time come on up and maybe you'll see us in the "sweet spot" Mike posted about on AGC's fourm. Hope to see you there soon. M&M

Don't think that was your dredge unless you are the fellow who sold it to me a couple of years ago!! LOL 80 degree weather here got me out last week. Went to a small private creek in Buchanan, Ga 4-5 miles upstream of the GPAA claim. Dredged in a hole the size of a large bathtub. Had a 8" layer of very tough hardpack material over bedrock. This creek has never been dredged but was worked "back in the day". I am working my way upstream with better gold each trip. The gold is all small. The loose rock and hard pack material is 90 % quartz. The bedrock is soft with vein of quarts running through it. the owner doesn't want any digging in the bank so I just have to take what I can find loose.

kilnmaint,
This is quite an old post I am replying to but the topic was of interest to me. I purchased some property in north GA some time back that has a creek on the property that could be similarly described as the creek you were working in Buchanan. Could you provide some details of the type of dredge you used to extract this fine gold and how did you pan out the real small flour gold displayed in the pan? Many thanks in avance for your reply. There my dredge is sitting in the breek.. barely enough water to dredge. Had to stop every 10 minutes or so the let the flow fill up the pool.

Good Lord willing, we will get the socialist White House Muslim out of office and you will get your job back Kilnmaint. Meanwhile, best of luck on the creek.
