I'm glad i'm not jaded off modern silver. Sure I love older stuff, but for me (and i'm sure alot of other folks) all it takes is one keeper...Rosie, Merc, Buffalo...and i'm happy with the hunt. Pulled the merc 15 minutes into an hour hunt and the rest of the hunt i felt like i was playing with house $$. The buffalo was icing on the cake.

Couldn't have said it better. One silver and early in the hunt the rest of the hunt is bonus time.
Great hunt!!

I call that find my "exit find". Once I have one, the rest is gravy. :)

Nice post Chris. Silver is always refreshing, and always better than puke-orangish poop-brown clad crap. Lol

We all hunt what is available to us. Pretty sure you dont have many colonial farm fields up your way and I sure dont have near as many old parks/schools as you.

The only silver I have ever found is a single merc.... i've found tons of crazy buttons and military buttons, rev war bullets, spanish cob coin from 1680, 1 duit from 1802, and many other cool coins and things. But that darn silver seems to stay away from me like I have the plague. So I guess I don't know the value of finding one silver to make it better haha.(ps I don't count war nickels as silver) I think ide scream like a little girl if i found another piece of silver.

In the four years I have been hunting, I have found 2 Mercs, 2 war nickels, a rosie and a Washington silver quarter. Where I live silver is hard to find even with an Etrac. Most of my silver has been jewelry (mostly rings). Last year I started digging deep signals and that is how I found the Mercs and rosie. I am hoping that this year the Etrac ups my silver now that I am digging deep. Any silver makes my day.
