Well how have you been doing your testing? Sluice and pan, just pan or what?

We did all of that when we panned we were getting 20-30 colors every pan when we slucied we did a few five gallon buckets and got a lot probaly close to a gram but all of it is just so fine

If you're getting that much I'd be breaking out the dredge and pry bars! Bust open some of the cracks in the bedrock and you may be surprised at what ya find.

AGREED! If you are not thoroughly cleaning the base layer be it bedrock or clay and the associated sands and gravel you are probably missing out on either more concentrated gold areas and/or larger pieces. Gold adds up in a hurry as you proved by running those few buckets through your sluice.
Good Luck.

Dredge it!

Also be careful not to do things that could cause your dredge sluice to blow out fine gold. Important to have a tender to keep large rocks cleared off the sluice. (A large rock creates a faster flow around it causing gold to wash out of the sluice)

Also avoid any sudden bursts of flow into the sluice, such as occurs during clearing a clogged hose. Important to avoid clogups (they cost you time and gold)

Do a cleanup if you had to shut down, because on shutdown your mats get packed tight and could prevent subsequent gold from settling in.

I agree to dredge! You can process so much more material and instead of getting a gram with the sluice, you should be able to get many grams with the dredge.
