Almost didn't dig it... Glad I did!

I got out for a short half hour hunt today. Had permission to hunt the yard in front of a house that was built in 1918. I was getting very annoyed with those pesky copper pennies from the 70's ringing up at a consistent 12:42-12:43 @ 5"! I decided to just dig it all to clear the yard out in hopes of un masking the deep stuff. So I flipped my plug fully expecting to see another penny when all of the sudden I get a glimmer of silver in the hole. BIG silver! Yessssss! 1952 Benji. Love surprises like that! And then..... Nothin... Like one wheat. Strange yard.

I love finding silver halves. That is a funny pic! I found my first half in a yard that only produced one wheat!

Yup sounded just like a penny. Pretty sure it was because of some trash in the hole though. CTX 3030 did it again. Fourth half in 4 months!

Love the pic...and the big silver! I think the look on your face epitomizes the feeling we get when we dig a great find that surprises us. A lot of halves turning up this month. I just said yesterday that May is official Half dollar month.:laughing7: I got lucky and found one yesterday too. Congrats!
