WHADIFIND now !?!?! LOL

Got out for a bit found a pile of clad, a scout tie holder a thingamajig, a thing that looks like a watch stem. MAN! My ears must be better than I knew! Look at the size of that thing! :)

AND, this bell looking thing.

I know the 2 halves go together because when I popped the top half out of the hole, I checked the hole again and there was more. After clearing the dirt away some more, there was the bottom half. No clue how they were held together to begin with, unless that was the rusted away part's job. :dontknow:

Any ideas?

A form of crotal bell?

The fork has no name on it, just a design, maybe brass?

OH!!! I KNOW!!! It was a model of the earth from way back when they were just figuring out the world wasn't flat! LOL

WHADIFIND?

The bells remind me of an old style alarm clock with the two bells on top. What's that piece, top right 1st picture, looks like a flor de lies on it? HH, Mike

The top right "thing" is a Cub Scout Webelos neckerchief slide. Probably from the 1980's from the design of it. (I've been in scouting for 25+ years). Hope this helps.

The "bell" is a neat find.

Anita

I thought that about the bell looking thing too. But, I don't think so. They appear to be made out of a heavier brass. Also, they were in the ground put together like I have them in some of the pics. Seems to have been one piece once. Maybe, glued together? Or held by the rusted away iron? :dontknow:

Anyone else see anything like this?

They also made pocket watches like that maybe that explains the watch stem?

Yep, the way I have it pictured with the 2 halves together is how it came out of the ground. About 6-9 inches down. What happened was that the top half came out and I said neat, a bell. Then I checked the hole again and the other half was just sitting there. As if it had been lost as a whole. I can't think of any other reason for it to be in the ground like that so I'm assuming that they went together. There is remnants of iron on the centers so I'm guessing that maybe, at one time, there was an iron shaft holding them together and over the years it rusted away? :dontknow:

A bit of a puzzler, eh?

Looks like a door knob/drawer knob to me (handle).

Not a bell as there are no slits or holes to let sound out.

Maybe a door knob as CRUSADER suggests

Perhaps a baby rattle ? for one "guess" and that would explain the rust inside from the disentragated rattlers.
