Check this I found today...the following five links show rings lost from 1920 to present day, and some include detail enough to search for the ring, or if you find a ring the person might be listed here. They also include contact info for each person who lost the ring.

cool site bergie! i only wish they had grouped the info together by state. it would have been way easier to read that way.its still a very cool site. thanks for posting it.

I also just realized this is a great way to find sites to search (old swim holes, etc). You could email the people to get more detail about the locations.
