Here's a link to my post last year of six silver coins found in a matter of about 20 minutes at an old amusement park site. I've just located new information and a "new" photo that helps to confirm what I believe happened, that these coins could have fallen from the pockets of people riding the roller coster above. Note this coaster was built in the 20s, but amazingly was still the fastest coaster in the U.S. until the early 1980s. The second link below shows a photo of the coaster from above and some interesting background about it. The coins were found in the wooded area just to the left of where the coaster runs from the bottom of the photo to the top. I always find it interesting to fill in the story to go with your finds. Thanks to True_Metal for his work on this site with me. Always a pleasure to detect with him.

If anyone in the area wants to search this site, let me know and I'll give you some guidance. It's tricky because of campus security at the college, etc., but I'd be glad to direct you on how best to approach it. However, there is very little area left to search that has not been developed or already searched, so I don't recommend someone coming from far away thinking there are great finds to be had. If you are near the area it could be worth a shot.
