Got out today to the farm field since the corn stubble has been knocked down for the past week. Once again, I waved to the tractor operator as he drove by this morning to mow down the next field. Dug a few trash targets and then got a 79-81 signal, shallow. Flipped out the plug and found that the object was in the plug. Broke away a little soil to reveal a dark disk. Coin or flat button? Turned out to be a coin. As you'll see from the picture composite and the video, it is a 1787 Connecticut copper. Prior to this one, my only other minted post-colonial was a Vermont copper, also 1787.
This coin is approx. 28mm in diameter and weighs 6.78 grams or 104.6 grains.

Thanks for watching!

Thx Hward56! Welcome to the forum, it's a great place!

Thx Carolina Tom! Called my wife after digging this one and told her I'd was hopeful of some Spanish silver. None found by me out here yet and I haven't found the farmer's gold but I'll take this old copper.

Thx CASPER-2! Great to hear from your "desk", as always! HH & GL

Thx deershed! Haven't found my deer shed yet, though I haven't been in the woods for several weeks.

I made a trip for a couple hours and managed to find 4 fresh drops. Two of them were this nice 10 pt. set.

Thx again for your help with an ID. I've attached a better photo and would appreciate your further review if possible. The off-strike is substantial, so much so that Liberty's head is missing from the reverse.

Thx Aureus! It is always "awesome", as you said, to stumble across a great signal like that.

Deershed, thx for that pick and congrats on all those points!

Great job you deserve it.. Keep up the treasure finds!!!!!!

Thx Tommy! Will keep digging. I noticed today that the lower fields have all been disked, so planting time cannot be far off. Thinking of going back to where I found the button and doing a little grid searching.
