Cool find!   And an old one too!  Could I see a photo of the back of it?  Reason I ask is that a friend of mine found one all the way down here in KY and we thought it was a hard times token--but your token actually looks similar to the one he found.

Best Wishes,

In Ionia County I found an 1832 1/2 'thistle' penny token from the bank of Nova Scotia earlier this year. Pretty sweet to see another Canadian bank token here in MI! Congrats!

Dont mean to hijack but here is one that I found in Vermont early this summer. From what I undarstand these are from 1837 +/- There are usually one or two for sale on eBay.
Nice find. I got a little excited when I found mine thinking that I had another Large Cent. It is a Large Cent but from Lower Canada. VPR

Well--I was worried about which side of the coin the Rose-like flower was on (in the example posted from e-Bay, it is on the "Commerce" side of the coin. But thanks to your post of the coin with the flower on the "Agriculture" side, VPR, I do believe I finally have a positive ID for the coin my friend found. On the back, the "NT" of "Montreal" is visible.

Time to go back to "What is it?" and finally mark this one SOLVED. :)

Here are the photos of the one my friend found.
