I got back out today for a couple of hours. My wife had plans for me tonight to hang pictures, I got out of it. I went back to the same site I found the other sporting button. The first target was this sporting button with what looks like an eagle or hawk. The small buttons are shell and quite fine, the site keeps giving me some goodies, no more fur trade rings yet, but you just never know. HH

That's odd. Appears the white one on the left is made from flint?

No the button is shell, the buttons were laying on top of the ground, I have not seen any buttons made from flint from this time period, but you never know.

It good be, we should get a book going on these sporting buttons we have found, I know there must have been lots of different types and sizes.
