I've been hunting a park in Baltimore City and over the weekend recovered a token. On one side the token reads "Fairgrounds 306 E. Baltimore St." My imagination begins to run wild and I'm thinking I've found the location to some old fairgrounds in Baltimore. No wonder that that location on any old map of the City never shows a fair grounds there.....anyway a real fair grounds wouldn't have a number address. IMG_7572.JPG

In fact, "Fairgrounds" on this small token refers to a store, that, among other things, sold rimfire ammunition. I found a number of the store's classified ads in 1940s copies of "Billboard" magazine.Fairgrounds July 1944 Billboard.png

A very cool token. Congrats on the save.

Nice token and the history to go with it. I still think there's more than you think. Probably on the crest of the hill.
Congrats on a great find.

Nice token......always nice to find them.

Love the tokens, congrats!

The background research is great -- as is the token! Thanks for sharing.
