Here is a broken heavy duty I found about 1984. It is very nicely made at 4 inches - broke, this would have been on heck of a relic. Its made of Harrison county flint, patina'ed a light grey, with good mineralization.

The brake area appears to relatively recent, most likely due to farm machinery, as there is no mineralization in the brake area.

So far I have not found the basal part, but I got my good eye out for it. I do remember where I found it.

A friend and I used to hunt some really big ag fields. We always carried a couple handfuls of aquarium gravel that was brightly colored in our pockets. When we found half a point broken by farm equip. we'd throw down some aquarium gravel. No matter how many times it's plowed, a little bit of the colored gravel always pops up and you can find your exact spot to look for the other half. We were successful finding the other half a couple of times. Gary
