Today...I went back to my favorite grounds.....and as I suspected..there was more!!! # mercs...'42,'43,'44 and a canadian silver dime...1950...17 wheats-oldest 1921, 1945 war alloy jefferson nickel, 1939 Jefferson nickel, and last but not least...........................Standing Liberty Quarter(really worn) -date worn off!!! unknown.......any guesses?

Very nice finds!! The SLQ is between a 1916 and 1924. Those years they had a raised date and wore quickly. From 1925 thru 1930 the dates were recessed and lasted longer.

hey how do ya know if a nickles war alloy?? I got one the same date, does it have a special mark of some kind??
