I planned a trip today to 9 more branches of the bank that gave me my huge Tuesday numbers. I couldn't find one of them, and I left off the last one as it was getting to be near closing time and I wanted to still be able to turn in my unwanted halves, so I wound up hitting seven. Picked up all told about $1500 of halves, though not much silver until the final 500 or so. You guys are gonna hate me :P Every single handful of that last 500 yielded silver.

RESULTS:
$99.00 FACE 40%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$2.50 face 90% kennedys
$2.50 face franklins (56, 60d, 61, 63 and 63d)
1 1936 walker

PROOFS (all but one from a single 88$ group - along with the walker, franklins, and a couple 40s and 90s)
1968s
2x 1981s
1985s
1990s
1991s
1992s
1993s
1994s
1995s
1996s
1997s
1998s
1999s
3x 2000s
2001s
2003s
2000s SILVER
2001s SILVER
2003s SILVER

!!!!
I do feel bad for the guy who had been collecting them, only to have his kid sell them, but what can ya do :P It sure beats the 5 proofs I had found total prior to today, and got quite a few nice dates in there.

Finally, I got one 1986 statue of liberty commemerative, and one beautiful 1987d that I originally thought was a proof, but redbook said it was part of some set anyway.

Still got about 20 more branches in my area to clear out :) I found my digital camera, so as soon as I either find my battery charger, or some fresh batteries, I will take pictures of everything from my last 2 big scores. My girlfriend works at a coin and jewelry store, so I just sold them all my 40%s the day I got them, but plenty of 90%s and proofs and foriegn :)

Thanks again for reading!! Hopefully I will be making a few more of these posts in the next week.

The bank with all the proofs might be worth hitting up for the other denominations as well since someone apparently cashed in a ton of proof sets there.

pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and maybe even the dollar coins.

Just a thought.

Wow! Now I would clean that bank out, Like Gman said I would devote alot of dollars to cleaning out the other types of coins just to get the proofs and silvers out of there. either someones dad's collection got sold off or worse.
Any how great results.
Best Regards, Ray

Re: another haul (pics coming soon!)

Well, I hit a few more of these banks and cleaned out their coin counters of halves. There are only a few left where I have yet to go, 3 more that wouldn't sell me their halves bags until monday for some reason (including one w/over $900, can't wait), and 4 more still that completely refused to sell me their bags. I plan on calling their main customer service #'s this week and seeing if I can't get that overruled. No ridiculous bags this time, but I still got 3 more walkers, $4 more 90%, and $19 more 40% - including my 2 oldest walkers to date, 1920, and 1923.

Pictures!

I'm curious, were they hand-rolled or from a box?
