Greetings Friends-
""" Man has this been a good week"""
I went back to the old farm site yesterday and found these.
The LC was only about an inch deep under a piece of iron. The clip clip of the iron signal just had a little extra smoothness to it so I kicked the iron aside and got that good smooth tone of copper. The second pics of the LC are after 3 hours in the tumbler.
The CW button, Token , and piece of a clay pipe were within 10 feet of each other. The back of the token is blank.
I have to wonder why they holed the token.
Maybe the Mrs. nailed it to the wall so the old man could not get liquored up.
Or maybe the old man wore it around his neck so he could use it over and over at the bar. LOL ;D
Thanks for looking and best luck to all. Merf :icon_sunny:

As always a Beautiful post, Merf! I enjoy reading your story each time, and I love the inspiring photos. Excellent work on the LC. Of course, the CW Staff Officer's button is an impressive and valuable find! I also enjoy seeing the usual housesite stuff...toe taps and suspender clips. Thanks for posting, Merf--and best of luck to you out in the field.

The corn fields are calling me! Looks like such a peaceful place to hunt. :)

Some great finds Merf. I saw you last post too - I really liked the Canadian Bank Token. Of coarse the 1874 IH was cool but was sporting some tumors. :D

The LC's are cool but the semi key IH's are where the money is at. ;D ;D

wow...talk about a great spot huh. I have never found any LC with a readable date. I have found 3 and they are barely even recognizable. Nice stuff there!!

Merf, how hard was it to find an 1853 coin to post on your 1853rd post ???

Since everything I find is clad, y'all are gonna have to wait a loooong time to see mine >:(

I always look forward to your posts. Awesome finds. I don't care what anyone says, I like the tumbled look better than the green patina look. I doubt I'll find a LC in my area but if I do, its going in the tumbler.
