After breaking into the 1800s on Tuesday with a 1860 Indian Head penny, I went back to the same spot tonight for 20 minutes after the rain stopped. I get a good signal close to the woods. The ground was real loose and out popped a 1916 Mercury dime. I seen the date on the front and my heart stopped, I was thinking it was a D. But it was a plain 1916. Good enough for me. My first silver coin!!!! :headbang: I added some new pics on the Indian cleaned up. Check out the post!!

seeing 1916 on it sure gets the heart to beating thinking you found a key date.only to discover no d mintmark on it blows. the one i found had s mintmark kind of disappointing.but it is still a great find.
