I knew that I could only hunt a few hours this morning because I needed to get home to get all my stuff out of my SUV. It's going in to be detailed tomorrow morning. I decided to head out to one of the older areas of town to see if I could find me a Barber coin.
I've hunted this area before but I thought I'd give it a second shot. I decided to use my MXT Pro in the relic mode and dig all high audio tones above the discrimination preset mark. Also if a target was questionable and less that 5 inches deep I would pass it up.
I managed to find a Standing Liberty Quarter, a V-Nickel, a couple of Wheat Pennies, a old cufflink, a tiny pendant and some clad coins. When I got my search coil over the SLQ, it gave a ID number of 87, which is about the same as a clad quarter. Silver Washington quarters give a much higher ID number.
Anyhow, trust me when I say that the MXT Pro is a very capable detector and is super fun to use. It can hang with the best of them.
