I love this bill, front looks normal enough, back looks like monopoly money. Oh, yeah, a one dollar silver certificate.

This bill is actually crisp, with barely noticable creases, not recent. ser # F 35987377B 1928 A Woods/Mellon.

Problem is, a purple stain on front top that goes thru to back, but just barely. Oh well, story of my life. It is still a keeper to me.

I have a 2005 currency book with aprox values, have these changed much and how much damage does the stain do?

Also found this bizarre note in the pile.

1928 A Woods/Mellon star: $55 in VF and $475 in UNC-63. Unfortunately, the stain will affect the value of the bill. To what extent, I wont even guess; sorry.
Prices are for retail value based on Whitman's Official Red Book 2008 edition.
