Another option that a lot of folks do not think about is non-working large appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc). These are call shreddables at the recycling yards. One thing a person can do, especially if they have a flatbed trailer they are not using, is advertise to haul off non-working appliances for free. A lot of folks buy new ones to replace their broken ones, and do not know what to do with their old one. Once you have a trailer full, take them to a recycling yard that buys shreddables. The only thing is if it is a refrigerator, you have to make sure the tank that has the coolant (freon or whatever) is empty. I am going to find a good used bumper pull 16ft flatbed trailer and us it for this (an other things). Hey, free money. Sometimes you can get in good with appliance repair places to cart off what they do not want any more and they do not want to mess with keeping a trailer and hauling them off. Get a trailer full at one shot. It is worth a shot.
