Hello all. Some of you might remember the 1909 silver six pence that I pulled out of a cent roll a few weeks ago. Well, i was going through a box of cents tonight. Opened a roll and saw a silver reeded edge. It turned out to be another six pence from Australia, a 1943-D! I think this is sterling as well. Odd thing about this box. Even though i'm on the East Coast, this box is loaded with D mint cents and almost no wheat cents. I wasn't too enthuisastic(spelling) about finishing this box until i spotted this beauty. Thanks for reading and looking. Good luck everyone, MM2

Yes, they were made in sterling from 1910-1945. In 1946,they were reduced to 50% silver. In 1964, they went over to decimal coinage.
