Antique weighs a lot clock

I hit a thrift store in Denver yesterday after I wrapped up some work related things there. It cost me a total of $38 and change. The visible escapement really got my attention and I've always been fascinated by that type of movement. I don't think it's worth a whole lot and I don't have a key, but it is wound down all the way and manually swinging the pendulum will rotate the escapement. It's made of black slate and inlaid with a granite. Definitely late Victorian era piece.

You can get a key pretty cheap. I used to buy most of my parts from Timesavers.

I've had success winding one with a pair of needlenose pliers. Have to be extremely careful not to scratch the dial and wouldn't want to wind one completely that way. I did it to see if the clock worked before I got a key.

There's a pretty nice clock shop near me run by these Russian fella's who would have a key. They'll even buy project clocks from you also. I might just see if I can get 50 bucks out of it? Being made of Rock kinda makes it tough to sell online imo, plus if the pinions are worn out it won't be worth it to me to fix.

I was thinking they went well together. It's a heavy son of gun and I wanted to give it something for size. I really don't know what to do with now, because shipping it won't be cheap. I have given some thought of just selling the movement, as that could go for about as much as the whole clock would sell for. The whole clock might not be worth it with the high shipping cost attached to the sale.
