Any antique radio guru's around?? (pics added)

Hello all, I need some research help for this radio!! I picked up a Ward's Airline Radio at a garage sale for $20 and can't seem to find it over the 'net'. It is a series 4B21, from Montgomery Wards - Chicago. I seem to be able to find everything about this radio except for this serial number! From searching around the best I can place it's age is mid - late 1930's. It's in great condition, everything intact, and the guy said it works if I can find the correct battery pack. It's made of wood, two dials, I'm assuming one for volume and one for tuning. I'll have some pics as soon as I can find my memory card for my dig. camera. If someone has some good info on this I'd love to hear it! Thanks,

Ok, got the pics...hopefully I can post them correctly...we'll see.

HI, THOSE OLD BATTERES ARE STILL AVAILABLE, CHECK THE NET. THE 1 1/ 2 VOLT ONE IS FOR THE TUBE HEATERS , THE 90 VOLT ONE IS FOR THE PLATE VOLTAGE.

IF YOU INTEND TO USE THAT AT HOME, GET AN INEXPENSIVE HOUSEHOLD CONVERTER. FAR CHEAPER.

THE TUBES ARE ALSO STILL AVAILABLE, BUT MAY BE A BIT OF A CHORE. IF YOU NEED A REPLACENT ASK MY FRIEND "CARL-NC", IF ANYONE KNOWS, HE WOULD.

that's a beautiful radio. Good luck getting it up and running. Does anyone know if "shortwave" broadcasts are still being made?
