Can anyone identify this item? Found in civil war area,

brass ring around it, and a small hole in the end. Any help? Can’t seem to find anything like it in any book.

Window crank handle ? Just because its found in a Civil War area doesn't make it Civil War..

The brass ring could be the bearing part of the crank.

For sure, could easily be modern junk.

With a flat base definitely not a crank for anything.

My guess there is a screw hole crudded over.
