I thought it was a .410 primer until I emptied the pouch and noticed it was a button. I’ve dug a lot of buttons but none with a square shank.
Thank you for any help identifying ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1531705845.163422.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1531705867.046799.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1531705888.898541.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1531705914.017560.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1531705931.703896.jpg

Can you post a clearer picture of the front? The back is in focus but my old eyes can't quite make out the front. Also, I am not sure this is a button. The projection on the side of it looks like it broke off of something else and I can't remember seeing a shank like that.

Since it has a square shank, I think it is a small bridle (or the likes) rosette.

I would say that centre rose design (very popular) was just the centre piece to a much bigger piece (maybe twice the diameter). It looks 18th C to me & was most likely a leather mount for a horse or maybe person's belt.
