I've got a five gallon bucket full of small little things like that. Unfortunately, they are just to small to figure out what they were part of. Bet ya it's heavy. Don't make them like that anymore.

FOUND THE ANSWER...!!!!!
I just talked with a man that has a wagon that's over 100 yrs old, and when I showed him the piece and asked if it could've been a wagon part, he said its the tail-gate latch.
