Interesting, its garnet but it shows cubit crystallization. Unusual view. The broken pieces show there is no real cleavage, typical for garnet. My thoughts.

I've never seen garnet crystals that look like these. The shape is like a diamond with the long points squared off, but you may be right. I looked through the rock book and couldn't find any crystals with that shape other than mica and it's not mica. Thanks for the replies.

You may be right EU. I looked if zircon in area and description is similar to crystals. Thanks for insight.
