Naproxen helps me more than any OTC remedy. When it gets really bad I eat hot peppers....not kidding. Broke mine on a CROTCH ROCKET a few years ago. Bone graphs, rods screws, then had to have it all taken out when it tore loose and redone with new bone graphs. Walking every day does me more good than anything I do. I am back hunting, metal detecting, and doing about anything I want to so long as I stay really active. Work to keep your weight down. I have to really pay attention to my weight. Get too big and it will really irritate the situation.:icon_thumleft:

I feel for ya bud , that must be painful on the spirit and body. I'm no doctor by any means but they go home at 5 and you are just a number to them. By all means try your best to figure out what works for you. I have but thats another story. Figure out what causes this ( compression ?) What little you have explained is the only thing your doing is for pain and not pevention. Have you tried decompression, there are things on the market but like I said we can help ourselves tremendously on our own. I do not have one but these exercise tables that flip up upside down seems to me to be a good thing. We are on our feet alot and we do nothing to compress our discs in our backs , they need a break. I often thought while we have down time in bed why not have something that can slightly pull our feet and decompress while we sleep ? Like zero gravity , imagine how much better we would feel at zero gravity ? Gravity just shrinks and compresses the life out of us all day long. I do believe in vitamins. Blah Blah Blah I'm sorry it seems crazy but I feel for ya and wish you the best.

If your taking meds I would ask questions before you start using natural medicine ,If you do not take meds, by all means change your diet completely with Lots of fruits and vegetables. I dont like doctors everything with what they give you causes side effects . I have arthritis , so for me is lots of movement where there is pain ,circulation is a key factor get those achy areas with lots of massage, use a thumper (Cost about 200.00) , when you feel your body is icthing that means there's alot of new blood going through .
Yes, very painful but int the long run you will feel the difference. Dont give up

I worked with a guy that had a similar problem, he rigged up a tilting table that he could lie on, fasten his feet in somehow, and then tilt it so he was hanging by his feet at a sharp incline, stretching his spine. He did it every night and swore by it. GL.

Cod liver oil has been used for years for rheumatoid arthritis. Don't think it will hurt and it does have Omega 3's,
Vitamin A, D, and K2. Shouldn't interfere with anything else. (My non medical opinion only.)

Well, here's my story. I had a ruptured disc, 3 times, Tried everything until I maxed out on the green and black caps. Doc said if I took more than 4 a day I would die. I found the most successful neural surgeon and had the back operations. That happened 3 times. Last operation was 25 years ago. I walk my dog about a mile a day for exercise. No problems since last operation, but I do know when the weather is going to change! Frank

MrSchulz I'd definitely would say go to another doctor, a specialist, and get a second opinion and perhaps a MRI on that area. I've had to get steroid shots in my lower spin to clear up bone spurs and arthritis that were narrowing the spinal column and rubbing on my spinal nerve. They work great. One day I could hardly walk and almost overnight was complete clear with no pain.

I wouldn't rule out acupuncture either.

I hope you didn't get your steroid shots from that lab that is having all the problems. Frank

Hi Frank...Fortunately those bad shots didn't make it into Louisiana..been about 6 months since my last so think I may be OK...and hopefully with the metal detecting I just started in the last few weeks will help strengthen back and avoid any future problems...

I just found out I have the same issues, along with some other stuff. I don't have any pain yet, just a little discomfort in the right arm, hand and shoulder.
