It's been passed down through generations here in the south, it's made from pokeweed and from what my grandmother said long time ago that it started during the civil war because food was hard to come by during that time, AC

Never tried that, but I do make "Hookers Pasta". I also exchange spinach and feta for the anchovies...

I just hate anchovies :tongue3:

Just about everybody in my area with access to a field gathers it in the spring. It's pretty yummy, better than spinach. Some people batter and fry the stalks from the small plants too. Makes me wish I had some right now...

I ate so much polk salad when I was a kid that my momma had to tie coal oil soaked rags around my ankles to keep the cut worms from eating me :laughing9:
