This quarter was buried in a very high acidic conditions area, in my opinion. I had a nickel like this that I found where we used to store old car batteries. The nickel looked almost identical to this.
some very early clad quarters (1965) had issues staying put together the front and rear would detach from the copper core of the coin --this issue was fixed with later quarters and it seldom happens now
Are you sure it's one of our quarters and not a foreign coin of some kind?
Maybe China's finally gotten around to duplicating our coinage! Lol!
