Anyone ever use a 10 pack AA battery holder instead of an 8 AA holder on.White'sSurfm

I have heard of people using them on whites surfmaster and dual field pi with no problem, just extends the time till batteries are too low. 10 AA batteries instead of 8 AA batteries. Not for more voltage just longer lasting. Let me know, thanks, Steve

I'm pretty sure they use a voltage limiter so like you said, you aren't getting "more power" just longer run time. My only fear would be overpowering the limiter and burning out something, but I dont know what its capable of handling. I never had any complaints about the run time on mine to want to change it.

Sounds like dumb idea, use more voltage to get a little more run time
just carry second set of batteries and double your run time.

without damaging your detector
