Anyone familiar with the F70?

Hey folks, I just got an F70 with the 10" and 11" coils cheap, and I was just curious how people view this machine. It isn't here yet so I haven't been able to try it out.

I just hopes it's quality, I've never tried any of the F-Series other than the F2 that my sister uses and it just seems really cheap to me...I hope the F70 is much better constructed and gets a bit better depth.

The F70 is a very good detector, it also has very nice ergonomics. Runs forever on the AA batts. (40+hrs.) I would highly recommend the 5" DD coil for it in real trashy area's. The 5" also gets great depth for its size. You should really enjoy that machine.

I've been using a F70 since April. Quality? No complaints except the twist locks will eventually break but I replaced them with Plugger Shaft Locks. This detector is lightweight and you can swing it forever without fatigue. Batteries last and last. Once I got a 5" coil, I never put the 10" back on.

Yep, it's a winner. Got a couple toasted wheaties today, 1910 and 1920 at an old homesite long gone in some nearby woods. Also got a nice 1917S dime. Yesterday was good also, a counterstamped 1888 IH and an 1897 dime and an 1891 IH in a trashy and "hunted out park".

I used the 5" coil yesterday, the 11" coil today. Could have made those finds with many other detectors for sure, but I made them with the F70 and they were easy hits with all of them in the 5" range.

Thanks guys, I hate it when I get a new detector and someone says.."Well that's more of a relic machine".

I had the Omega8000, I'm assuming that the F70 is probably very similar to that.
