Immediately across the channel that bisects LaConnor, there is an active Indian Longhouse and community...might want to ask permission to work that side...also the Indians (both tribal and individuals) own many sites on the LaConnor side, especially many that front onto the channel (which is also the central part of Old Towne).

There were many ships chandleries (still some) that have warehouses along thed channel...the parking and dock areas would be a good bet.

I have a sister that lives 2 blocks off of the channel in an 1870's victorian with a coachhouse...been invited to check it out...she also known many of the other owners and will be a good resource whenever I get the itch for a visit in a month or so.

There is also a ton of old barns in the vicinity...as there is all over the coastal farming area...another resource for someone.

I hope you get one that can actually detect gold and discriminate out the black sand (iron). I was about to post a new topic to see what other people are using for nugget hunting. Watch for it if you need advice with what to buy.
(Note: New doesn't always mean better, when it comes to a nugget hunting MD.)

Someone is blowing smoke...we stayed in Laconnor mid October and hit a number of old residences including several on the Indian Reservation across the channel...never a word was said by anyone...
