At a thrift store thinking of buying but don’t know the stone it’s made out of any ideas

I would buy it. Unless its super expensive. Looks like agate to me. Maybe an incense.

Maybe shoushan stone? I checked eBay and didn’t see too many sold listings of shoushan stone items that exceeded $250. I think that thrift is priced at about retail.

Shoushan stone is soapstone. That doesn’t look like soapstone. It looks like carnelian agate.

The carving on it is tourist grade, I doubt if it is worth the asking price.

Vintage ones seem to sell around $2800. New, smaller ones are $850-$1200.
