Looks like a possible perfume or a polish bottle. I could be way off though. Nice find. :thumbsup: jgas

That would be my guess as well :dontknow:

However, I ran into a tidbit of information recently that might indicate otherwise. Apparently, back in the "old days" allot of folks couldn't read. There were also issues with the availability of good lighting and eyesight is always an issue with the old - especially prior to the invention of cataract surgery.

What I heard is that poison bottles were often embossed with allot of cross-hatch patterns similar to the ones on this bottle. That way if you reached into your cabinet in the dark for your medicine, you could feel the rough surface and wouldn't drink poison by mistake!

Of course, poison bottles were also often cobalt blue in color - likely for similar reasons, so I'm not saying this is a poison bottle. Just food for thought......
