I just picked one up for 150.00 and it looks almost brand new. Cannot wait to take her out and see what she can do, Tim

WOW, You guys are hunting with the new machines!

I am still using my trusty Freedom III. I also have a few newer, one is the Garrett GT 1000, but I sure hate the pushbutton to pinpoint. I am finally getting ready to turn it into a trigger pinpoint like the older Garrett machines.

They do seem to last forever!

I just sold a GTAx 400. That thing was a coin killer. I have a Golden umax I'm thinking about trading for a GTAx 750 or GTP 1350. I have three Tesoro's, so looking for something different.

I have a GTA that I bought in 1995 or 6 and still use. I had to replace the housing ten years ago and it arrived from garret with no markings on it. Just can't remember if I bought the 1000 or the 1500, I do know that I bought one of the more expensive models though, not the 500. It works OK but I can't seem to find anything deeper than 7 inches. Someday I'll upgrade to a modern machine that will go deeper and work better in the wet sand.

I bought a GTAX 500 about a year ago. I've been waiting to see some posts on this machine. I don't have the owner's manual and could use some tips. It seems to be a coin machine. I dug 1907 Indian head last weekend but I think it has more potential if I knew how to set it. Any help would be appreciated.

The GTA 500 was my first Garrett detector. I found thousands of coins with it. No complaints about it from my end.

My father and myself started out with the GTA 500 and until his death in 2001 we spend a many hours competing against each other for fun.. Thanks for bringing back some good memories..

You got me thinking.. I don't have my GTA 500 anymore but I do have the original box it came in..That is why I guess I'm a packrat.. Who else would still have the box and not the detector..
