Don't sweat the big pics.

Here is a simple way to resize your pics:

-Open the program "Paint".

-Then click "File" and then "Open". This will bring up the folders/files on your computer.

-Select the file you wish to work with.

-With the file/image open click on "Image". This will open a drop down menu.

-From the drop down menu, click "Stretch/Skew". This will open another box.

-In this box you will see "Stretch" with options for "Horizontal" and "Vertical". The %'s for these will be at 100.

-Change the value from 100 to your new percentage (either shrinking or enlarging) and click OK.

-Save the newly sized photo as a new file so as to retain your original.

Best photo software ...

For preparing photos for the web I use Adobe Imageready.
It used to be a stand alone program but now it is bundled with Photoshop.

It not only will re-size the photo (I usually use 800 pixels wide) and it will also adjust the quality.
You don't need very high quality for a computer screen and most sites limit photos file size to 100K or less regardless of its dimensions.
Your re-sized photo can be anything from 1K to whatever the original file size was.

Try washing the picture in hot water and then use a hairdryer to dry it. That may shrink it somewhat :dontknow:
