The Indian alone is worth about $5 +
just wondering where you got the 5.00 quote from? My price guides all have 12.00+ for the 1863. If the dirt on the penny isn't corrosion you can put that penny in Hot hungering peroxide an that will clean the dirt off but not the patina...

You are right red book shows $12 in G4 so it is worth at least $5 right.

Good buy! There appears to be very good detail on the 1863 IH but it's a shame that there's alot of verdigris as well. I'd soak it in distilled water and baking soda (don't scrub just let it soak) for a few days to neutralize the corrosion that's attacking it and see it some of it goes away. The corrosion looks severe enough that the coins surface will be probably pitted. A corroded 1863 will realistically bring $3-6.00 on Ebay.

Ive heard a soak in olive oil will do a coin like that IHC good , it does appear to have good detail lurking.I agree with Bula on price guides , you can take a red book price and cut it in half , 50% , theres your accurate price in reality.
