Arrowhead & Drill

Hello,

I went out for awhile after work on the 30th of Aug & found this point just by the edge barely sticking up out of the creek the rest of the creek was silted so I went back this Sat Sept 4th after we had rain & found this Mid section to a drill broken on both ends and a piece on the side.

Thanks 4 lookin'

Gosh wouldn't that have been a purty drill?!
That red color really shines!
That other point isn't too shabby, either :icon_thumright: .
Nice finds, DCSS!

I would call that a preform point. Very important finds. Your eye is in the right spot.

Thanks, The drill is really an unusual color for around here I would have loved to find the rest..but maybe i will?

I never thought about a preform? its the size of a normal point, I just thought it was a crude more recent point?

I had someone tell me (at an artifact show) that around my area that the relocated Native Americans didn't take the time to work tools as fine as they have in the past because they were moving all the time?
May just be a theory??
