The cannon ball seems sorta small (unless you have HUGE hands).
Could it be the shot from some type of large canister?

Nice ball! With no markings, it would appear to be from a 24-pounder stand of grape. Very kewl! Where I'm from in Mississippi the Confederates threw a lot of these.

I'm in upstate NY so I was leaning more towards Rev. War shot. I don't know thou??

They used these in the Rev, 1812 and Civil War. There should be at least 11 more of those nearby.
