Arrowheads

It's been a while since I got to hunt points, but I got to today...sorta...

I picked these up at a antique shop for $25 for the lot! Not as good as finding them, but still a good find. I think I'll ebay them. I never sell ones I find, but somehow bought ones are different.

Most of these are early archaic....8000 to 12000 years old.

I would not seel them. I am sure they are Kolomoki. I see and edgefield scraoer in the bottom of one of your pics. Check overstreets on these if you do decide to sell.... I think they are authentic,

Yeah, they are authentic. I have some edgefield scrapers, but there isn't one in this group. The one you're looking at is actually a bolen bevel, but it is lopsided a bit. Kolomoki? How do you figure?

I have several overstreets...but take a look on ebay to see what they're really selling for. Sometimes they get decent money, but usually nothing like overstreets. I think the state of the economy is making it worse too... I guess a lot of folks aren't so interested in buying stuff for their collections right now. I've never sold an arrowhead before, but I bought these just because I knew they were worth more...purely as a turnaround investment. I have many that I found, and I hope I never have to sell any of those.

My girlfriends family had a peanut farm in Early county. They would find similiar points in their fields.They were close to Kolomoki and thats what they called their collections.They were kind enough to give me a frame of finds. So much diff than the Tennessee river things I find. I am no expert but thought that is what they might be as they resemble some of theirs. I also would never sell one of my own finds either. I know economy is bad and I wish you luck in selling them. I know ebay and wish you the best in your re sell.

Kolomoki chert? You might be right. I don't know what material they are...kolomoki chert sounds good to me though. The patina is so thick they are white. Usually they have color under the patina that you can see if you find one with a fresh break. Somtetimes then you can tell what material they are. I even find a coral one once in a while. I was thinking you meant they had something to do with the Kolomoki mounds.
