The first one is definitely an artifact. Looks like a blade to me but I'm new to this and not that knowledgable. I don't know about the second piece. I like the material of that first piece. Good find. I bet theres more where that came from too. :tongue3:

The first piece has definitely been worked by man, so by definition that makes it an artifact and probably a Knife. The second doesn't look to have any alterations to it and is more than likely just a chuck of Quartz.

Yeah , that first piece is definitely an artifact and an interesting piece considering your area, the flint run jasper complex, looks like an early knife form to me, great find. I'm not sure about the quartzite piece.

Thanks for the help folks. I agree Peachy, nice material. I've only found a few tools made from Jasper, no points yet. Thanks again for the help.
