Recently my friend Keith and I along with other friends took a week trip to Aruba. We took four Excal's with us to have backup gear. I would like to give a special thanks to Casper-2 for all his suggestions on packing. It mad the he trip a lot easier. We were in Aruba for a week and managed to detect about 3 and a half days. During those days we found more than 20 rings and other items. I had the pleasure of returning 2 rings and a charm. keith also returned 2 rings and a gold womans earring lost in dry sand. We had so many people asking for help that it cut into our detecting time. In the photo with the man holding the charm his son lost it the day before and I found it early in the morning the day after. There were at least 12 family members looking for his son's charm with no luck. As luck would have it his mother saw me walking off the beach in the afternoon and asked if I had found it. Once she described it I returned it so their 12 year old son could get it back. They could not believe that I had found the charm. Money almost always is offered on a return but all I asked for was a photo. During the rest of the week I returned the pinky diamond ring to the woman who had been wearing it on her finger since she was 16. Again just a photo was requested. I did return one gold wedding ring that was lost five minutes before my arrival on the beach in the wet sand which I returned without a photo. All in All it was a great trip. It took a lot of preparation to get all our gear there. There we no issues with carrying our detectors broken down on the plane in our carry on bag.
