Yes it is good with coins I have had mine about 8 months and have found over $200.00 in coins with it also 13 rings (2 Gold) (1 Carbide Tungsten)the rest were costume, A Silver charm and a Silver pendant and other assorted costume jewelry. At $450.00 you're getting a deal.

If you hunt relics, the AT Gold may be the better of the two (AT Gold/AT Pro) as it has the true all metal mode. I often times hunt relics using the 5" x 8" Coil, as it is very sensitive to tiny targets, has great target separation capabilities and can also hunt in fresh water, down to 3 meters or 10ft.
