So after complaining about not finding a crotal, I found 2. One is plain, nickel plated I think , no marks. The other is decorated on the bottom. It is a size 2, with a 12 on the top( makers mark?)For some reason , some pics from my other post are here? I can't delete them. weird

Nice old bells, the 2nd bell is a petal bell, the #1 is the size and the letters E ? are the makers mark

Super cool bells! If I found them, I'd probably wear them. Downside: Then the wife would know where I was at.
Best of Luck,
Phil

What is the bottom item? Is it a candle snuffer?

Wish I knew, pretty ornate. Not a candle snuffer though, those weren't lead

What makes you think that the item is made of lead? Surely something that ornate would not be made of lead as it would be too susceptible to damage (smashing, bending, gouges, scratches, etc.). Once cleaned up, I think you may find that it is made of a completely different metal.

Not 100% sure, just guessing. It rings up on a detector as lead would,it's extremely soft( I could easily bend it) and the area where the paint is gone is a grayish metal.

Top favorite finds... Old coins... Buttons... Crotal Bells and buckles... Though I've only found 1 whole one.... Mostly pieces.... My uncle found a piece of one about 2 weeks ago that would have been the size of a tennis ball if it were whole... Would have been awesome
