Happy to say that my first dig with the AT Pro was a buffalo nickle. I also found a Carwash token. Can anyone give me time period when these tokens were used or possibly date mine. What does HH mean? Sorry guys I'm a newb. Only been detecting for about two weeks. Also how can I clean the nickle up to see the date without tools.

It's always a good hunt if you can walk away with a Buffalo Nickel. Welcome to TNet! :hello:

Put The coin in a window with direct sunlight- for a day each side before you do anything- you will nearly be able to see the extra detail appear as the core drys out!

Way to go with the Buffalo Nickel. HH means "happy hunting". Go to "Harbor Freight" tool store and buy a rock tumbler. I bought the duel drum type. One drum for nickels, dimes, quarters, and silver, and the other drum for pennies, or tokens, brass, copper. Then go to a pet store and buy small size aquarium rock. Put the aquarium rock in the tumbler along with ajax cleaner, add water to half inch above the rock and coins and tumble the pennies about 2 hours, and the other coins (nickels, dimes, etc for 2 or 3 days and their clean. The tumbler drums should be about a third full of coins and rock.
Good luck with your new hobby. You are off to a good start.
HH everyone

Congrats on the buffalo and token. Great finds for your first time out. The AT Pro is a great machine.
