AT-Pro question...

I have been out with my AT-Pro about a dozen times to 5 different locations this year and have been to some fairly decent sites. I am no professional but it seems like the sites I have been to have not been hunted (or they were poorly hunted), I'm finding lots of clad but no silver.

I always dig the first dozen or so targets to get a feel for how things are ringing in (nickels like nickels, dimes like dimes, pull tabs like pull tabs, etc...) but I am not finding silver at all.

Nothing I search is less than 70 years old and I've done my research on where to search while on the properties (historic aerials, photos, etc...).

I pretty much stick to the coins setting, am I wrong? What am I doing wrong?

Last year was the same thing...

I discriminate everything 45 and under. And 95 and over. I dig everything in between.

I dig ALL repeatable signals between 40 and 95 and also use the NEL tornado if I feel there may have been some top soil filled in over the original ground so I can get some extra depth. I bought my first AT pro 3 years ago and have never found more silver with anhy other detector, well until I bought my E trac this year LOL!

Swing speed is the key. slow and steady. Slower you go the better the machine works. Re scan those whispers. The AT Pro is a silver hog.
Thanks PKB!!! This quote here helped me nail my first silver with my NEW AT PRO yesterday!!! I truly owe it to this post of yours!! 1948 S quarter!! Thanks!!8-)

Take a silver coin along with a sample of things like nickels and small gold rings, go out in your backyard and play with your settings until you can detect all. Always good to take some in your pocket when out, so you can test at any time.

Well...I didn't find any silver but I did find a ring at 10+"... ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1430071345.966513.jpg only markings are "Mexico". Doesn't look to be silver...[emoji20]...stone is missing.

Also found normal clad and trash...I'll keep going back to this site to see what I missed and keep you updated.
