Australia Day is Coming!

and with it a 3 day weekend,

for you aussies and ex-aussies on the forum, I am staying in Port Fairy, in your opinion where am i likely to find more with a stock etrac - no pinpointer - no surf basket - no small coil, 15-/+ hours of experiance on the machine.

I am thinking about either going up to Ballarat to the gold fields (probably going to be crowded) or to Melbourne to the beach. I will probably be car camping in either case. and by car camping i mean sleeping in the bed of my rented "Ute".

I got my Victoria Miners Right today, Anyone been to hunt the yellow stuff in the golden triangle before? It will be my first time out there so I guess I'll try the streams for nuggets but any advice is welcome!
