Post a clear photo of each side. Include something to help indicate the size: a ruler, a coin, etc. Post to Native American Artifacts forum or what is it? Forum. Good luck🍀

That piece is made from Knife River flint from N Dak. All of the Clovis points I’ve seen from that material had a white patina from sitting in the soil for 11,000 yrs. The flutes are extraordinarily long for a Clovis point. It has typical Clovis cross section with Folsom type flutes. I would say there is a good chance that it is newly made.

It would be very helpful to have additional information on this.

Where did you obtain this item? what state is this reputed to be from, or from whom was this obtained? Context is important.
Details concerning this would help also, dimensions, length of the flutes, details on basal grinding. That sort of information.

Hi, I am searching for someone who can authenticate a Clovis point I have. Not having much luck finding one.
When you post pictures give as much info as possible, found, bought, given, inherited, if found, found where?

When you post pictures you need to also give members as much info as possible, "found, bought, given, inherited," if found, found where? Measurements or something for size comparison AND pictures that are IN focus, yours are out of focus when blown up.

For what it is worth there is no visible patina on point in pictures posted, and flute on one side seems way too long, over 3/4s of length, from pictures posted nothing says authentic.

Sorry, we still need pictures in focus, new pictures are still out of focus, and still need size, length and width.

Before you post pictures blow them up and see if they are in focus, if not in focus, please take new pictures...👍

view upcoming relic shows in csasi member states at

there will be individuals at the events that can and will give you thier opinions on the point.

they will want to know more about it also before rendering an opinion. the same questions put to you before more than likely.

don't be surprised if it gets a thumbs down. hope for the best but be ready for the worse.

I appreciate all your help. It was shown to the DNR at Angel Mounds in Indiana I was not present so this is hear say. He said it’s from the Paleo Period something about volcanic glass and they would love to have it in there museum and that’s all I know..
