Aventurine is in the Quartz family. It contains small crystals that reflect light and give a range of colors. Green aventurine quartz has inclusions of green fuchsite mica. We all know mica can be shiny in the sunlight. Here is a pendant I bought for my wife. It is an attractive cabochon placed in a sterling silver housing. I hate to admit it, but I paid less than five dollars and that included shipping. lol.
