People do them over halves because they might not be able to afford halves, so that is something to consider.

On MWRs, I average 2 per box, but it is actually more like 1.7 per box, as sometimes I only get one, but I am yet to get skunked on a dime box. I have been skunked on halves a couple times.

last year on 88 boxes I averaged 1.4 per box
this year on 35 boxes (so far) I averaged exactly 1 per box

My dime box averages are horrible. ~45 boxes (likely its closer to 50 boxes as I haven't been very diligent in recording all of my dime searches) has produced a whopping 11 silver dimes for an average of about 0.24 per box. The correct number is probably more like 0.20. Only 5 boxes have produced silver. the other 40+ have all been skunks.

Stay away from Brinks box they will bring you nothing but heartache.

I've averaged 2 per box for the last five years. Lots of mercs, silver Canadians and so far six Barbers.

Wondering here what most people average on dime rolles per box. Seems like it would have to be pretty good for people to do them over halves. Whats peoples success been (please no stories of finding gold in them or how you conned a vending machine please). :laughing9:

I normally average 1 per box on average..

66 boxes 78 silver dimes. 67 which were rosies, 3 Mercury's, 1 barber and 7 Canadian.. ;-)
